After the long posts of the last few days, today is quick tip day. Read on to find out how to easily have the SAP system optimize the column width in fields of table controls.
Sometimes, fields in table controls are unnecessary big or much too small. You can of course drag the column to the desired width, but that takes a few seconds and requires you to find the tiny spot in the table header where you can grab the field.
There is a much quicker way: Just hold down the Shift key and left-click into a table field to set the column width to the output with of the associated data element, This makes sure you can always read the entire field contents, but don’t waste lots of space.
If you Shift+click the field again, it is reset to its previous size. A neat trick that sometimes saves you a few seconds!
